Often, our investment strategy is to partner with existing management teams in running their own companies. But ClearLight also invests in private companies in another way—we back a person with a plan. The CEO Alliance Program is designed for the experienced, passionate executive who has a vision to acquire and create value in a company that has untapped potential or can serve as a platform for further acquisitions. ClearLight helps identify and buy companies, recruit managers and shape strategy with the CEO. Together we work to buy and build a significant business under your leadership.

Is this you?

  • Experienced, successful senior executive

    • Prior experience as a senior executive in the targeted industry, preferably as CEO
    • Demonstrated track record of creating shareholder value
  • Industry experience in targeted sector

    • Understanding of industry dynamics, trends, and the competitive environment
    • Strong understanding of the key value levers and how to drive results in the sector
    • Strong contacts in the industry and a strong reputation among industry insiders
  • Personal passion, with goals that are aligned with the ClearLight team

    • Passionate about building a winning company with a well-defined competitive strategy
    • Strong experience and business acumen, ability to adapt and drive innovation
    • Strong chemistry with ClearLight

How it works…

The Steps We’ll Take:

  • Preliminary ‘get to know you’ meetings between ClearLight and executive partner.

  • Executive partner, working with ClearLight team, develops written investment thesis for consideration by ClearLight.

  • Written letter of understanding (LOU) executed between ClearLight and executive partner.

    • Economic terms defined up front
    • Executive makes full-time commitment for a defined period to search for investments
    • Executive will typically be appointed CEO or Chairman of platform company upon acquisition

Your Role…

  • Develop and execute strategy
  • Leverage industry contacts to identify potential acquisitions
  • Provide industry-specific diligence support
  • Manage/oversee the operations, strategy and growth of the business post-acquisition

ClearLight’s Role…

  • Research & vet industry dynamics / trends and help refine strategy
  • Support acquisition search with in-house deal sourcing resources
  • Lead business due diligence on identified target companies
  • Assist in negotiations and documentation
  • Provide equity financing and arrange debt financing
  • Board-level support and additional capital post-acquisition
